The second part of František Niedel's historical series The Knights of Vřesov
King John of Luxembourg tries to consolidate his position despite the opposition of the great men who imagined that the inexperienced young man would become their puppet. In the meantime, the power of both Henry of Lipá and Peter of Rožmberk is growing. The real heroes of the novel, however, are, as in the previous book Knights of Vřesov, members of two landed families: Benes and Čeněk from Vřesov, Lothar Katzinger from Olšová and his older brother Wolfram.
