Rottrová Marie: All the best. - CD

Marie Rottrová's greatest hits.

A collection of twelve songs, limited by the duration of an LP record, is now also being released on vinyl, a traditional sound format that suits this music very well. Marie herself chose, added to and arranged the tracks.

Most of the songs are ballads or mid-tempo, which makes listening to the album a concentrated experience of wonderfully sung, excellent lyrics. Jiřina Fikejzová, Jaroslav Wykrent and Jaromír Nohavica wrote words that perfectly suit the singer's nature and the essence of the songs, whether they are strong domestic melodies by Wykrent or Jiří Zmožek, borrowed originally Polish songs, a cult cover version from the French scene, or a bold loan from Black Sabbath's repertoire. In a supremely feminine, very elegant and equally high-quality way, Marie Rottrová managed to turn these songs into unforgettable pearls of our popular music from the last four decades or so. She was always reliably supported by a group of excellent Ostrava musicians from the band Flamingo/Plameňáci.

Taking into account the usually delicate character of the songs, the frequent transparency of the arrangements and the soulfully, slightly husky timbre of the vocals, a lacquer was used when cutting the production master, allowing for the optimal transfer of even the quietest passages.
