Sadness
Smuténka is one of the author's early poetry collections (1965). In it, he abandons the free verse that predominates in his work and opts for the traditional strophic and verse form. The poems are characterized by their spare expression, mystery, present in every poem, and symbolism. Often there is white, pure snow, nudity, hearts, etc. A big theme is the changing of the months and seasons in the midst of nature, as a symbol for the order of life on Earth. Love saves man from the sorrow of existence in this world.
Skácel's poetry has been set to music many times. Recently, Jiří Pavlica from Hradistan has composed music to some of his poems.
