Sampha: Process

LP Record Sampha has already lent his voice and songwriting talent to many of his fellow UK artists, including SBTRKT, FKA twigs, Lil Silva, and Jessie Ware, as well as international stars like Drake, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and Solange. Despite this, Sampha is still considered one of the UK's hottest newcomers, making now the perfect time for his debut album. But let's start at the beginning. The youngest of five brothers, Sampha Sisay grew up in the Morden district of London, with his family originally from Kenema, Sierra Leone. When he was three, his father bought him a piano, which had a profound impact on young Sampha. He was also influenced by his brothers' musical tastes, who listened to everything from The Strokes and Brian Eno to jazz.
