Satan's Spring

Audiobook Satan's Spring, by Zdeněk Pošíval, read by Ondřej Brett, directed by Vladan Hýl. Jožík Bukovský #2 CRIME AT PELHŘIMOV CHANCES L. P. MDCXCI In 1691, a band of travelling comedians is slaughtered in Pelhřimov, almost in front of the audience, of whom only one person, a representative of Kolombina, is saved. She then hides out with the landowner Jožík Bukovský, who is charged with solving not only the aforementioned crime, but also another series of murders committed against women in the area. In a harsh but also lyrical story full of adventure and suggestive atmosphere, the author draws a psychological portrait of a sadistic perpetrator, noting contemporary investigative procedures, folk customs and historical details, and takes the reader far beyond the borders of Pelhřimov, to various corners of Europe and America. ZDENĚK POŠÍVAL Zdeněk Pošíval graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, worked as a director mainly in Moravian theatres, and later lived in Prague.
