Scavengers

How far can a person who feels deep hatred go?

One autumn afternoon in Stockholm, the headquarters of SEB, Scandinavia's largest bank, comes under sniper fire. The series of shots aimed at civilians will cease as quickly as they began. There are several dead bodies in the stairwell outside the building. Execution in broad daylight.
Despite immediate action, police were unable to catch the shooter and the motive for the cold-blooded attack remains a mystery. But the headlines seem to be clear - Sweden's capital has been the target of yet another terrorist attack. Detectives Rickard Stenlander and Erik Svensson initially agree with this explanation, but when they begin to unravel the case, they discover that the victims have one thing in common - they all worked in the same department at the bank. But who killed them and why? Are there more commonalities between them?
At Rickard's request, encryption expert and former activist Lynn Stahl is brought in to examine the victims' computers. And the information they uncover is gonna shake up the whole case.
Linn suspects that a group of right-wing extremists she has already confronted might be involved and starts to investigate on her own to confirm her suspicions. The deeper she goes, the more she uncovers of the spiral of violence, kidnapping and corruption in the tangled web of big companies and institutions - and it becomes clearer and clearer to her that her old enemies have not yet settled all their scores.
In the loose sequel to the thriller Man, who played with dolls Magnus Jonsson focuses not only on the dramatic investigation of a mass murder, but again touches on current socio-political issues, moving contemporary Sweden, such as the quality of private social care, growing right-wing extremism, his connection to the business, but also that, how hard it is to prove something like that.
