Season of silence

An ancient evil is awakening in the heart of the Lake District. People are mysteriously disappearing around the town of Ravenscroft. Sometimes their mutilated bodies turn up, sometimes there is no trace of them. Winter has come and the snowy landscape, like a mute observer, silently guards the truth of their fate. However, the missing are only foreigners who were mostly just passing through the area.
This is where a prominent journalist and her partner are heading, in the quiet winter time. Driven by a desire for sensational revelations and exclusive reports, they want to unravel local mysteries. At the time, they have no idea that instead of great shots, they themselves will become the central missing characters of the story.
The police find themselves under overwhelming pressure from the media demanding answers. The case is given top priority and falls into the lap of Commissioner Carl Dawson.
So he heads north in his all-terrain vehicle to the valley around Ravenscroft, straight into the arms of a relentless winter that seems as treacherous as the local countryside.
The detective dives into a web of lies while surrounded by a cruel nature that seems eager to keep its terrifying secrets fully under wraps.
What does the recurring motif of the raven, the silent abbey or an ancient family living in a castle far from civilisation have to do with everything?
The season of silence is in full swing. Can Carl Dawson uncover the truth in time before he, too, becomes the hunted? This time, however, neither strength nor a cold dose of lead will determine the winner...
