Self-Sufficiency

Štěpán is eleven years old and his whole world depends on adults. But what will he do when his dad has probably gone crazy - he has moved out, grown a beard and his ankles are sticking out of his trousers. Dad's new girlfriend doesn't like Stepan very much, she finds him redundant. His mom is sighing, cutting back on everything, and it looks like she's not feeling well. Štěpán wants one thing above all - to grow up and be self-sufficient as soon as possible. Zuzana Dostálová has written a novel about adolescence and adulthood, about loneliness and independence. It traces the hero's life over a period of several years and does not leave the narrative to him alone.
