Tim Weaver thriller The Shadow at the Door
FOUR MYSTERIES. FOUR STORIES. ONE COMMON KEY…
For the Conisters, it is an evening like any other, until Paul goes upstairs to the first floor. When he does not return for a long time, his wife Maggie goes up after him. She finds his phone and wallet by the bed, with all the windows locked from the inside.
Paul has vanished into thin air.
Missing persons investigator David Raker knows that every disappearance – no matter how unlikely it seems at first – has a logical explanation. Yet he never imagines where the Paul Conister case will lead him. And that is only the beginning of his troubles…
What connects a horrific discovery on the London Underground, a reopened cold case from which the key witness and prime suspect have mysteriously vanished, and a seemingly random shooting thousands of miles away?
David Raker is the key to finding the truth.
