Short stories and one poem

Brand new short stories of various settings from the pen of the Czech great

Some of them are humorous, others are thought-provoking, but all of them are laced with the author's kindness and life wisdom. Zdeněk Svěrák's stories are inspired by life itself, and any of us could have been in the same situation as their heroes.
A bonus of the book is a poem that unexpectedly predicts the future of the Czech nation, and in one story only the readers themselves can discover the perpetrator of the crime.

Zdeněk Svěrák about the book:

? My third book of short stories is meant to trick you with its title that it is a great read. That's why I persuaded her graphic designer to keep the "and" on the cover unobtrusive. The truth is that it contains short stories of different tuning. The happiest is probably Ruin (1963), the saddest is perhaps The General (2020). Some are from life, others are made up, but so believable that you can't detect it. I'd like you to find a dose of humor in all of them. It's variously tucked away, but I hope it's there, otherwise I wouldn't even enjoy writing it.
