Short stories with X

To the roots of science fiction. Herbert George Wells is one of the founders of science fiction literature. Not surprisingly, his novels such as The War of the Worlds, The Invisible and The Time Machine have been adapted for film and radio by Orson Welles and Steven Spielberg. Apart from novels, he devoted his life to writing short stories. In them he combined his imaginative imagination with the scientific discoveries of the time and (in contrast to his novels) often added a subtle sense of humour typical of British short story writers of the time. The title Stories with X is a selection of the best of Wells' shorter texts. Here we find stories that have entered the golden fund of science fiction stories. Stories such as The Man Who Could Work Miracles, Superstimulator, and The Land of the Blind are still published in a number of genre collections today, proving why Wells' work is considered a cornerstone of modern science fiction literature.
