Pay close attention to books marked with the TOP Edition gold seal! They come with the reputation of being the world's biggest bestsellers, warmly received by critics and readers alike, or have won major literary awards. May 1993. A rookie police officer, Martin Servaz, takes part in the unsuccessful investigation of a double murder of two sisters dressed in their first communion dresses. The crime scene bears a striking resemblance to a scene from a book by Erik Lang, a well-known thriller author who, however, cannot be convicted. Twenty-five years later, Servaz is called in to investigate a mysterious death at the same writer's home. Will he find a connection between the two cases and catch the killer?

Bernard Minier
Bernard Minier grew up in the southwest of France, spending his childhood in the Pyrenees. He studied at the University of Toulouse, which is also the home of Martin Servaz, the protagonist of several of his thrillers. He has lived near Paris for more than twenty years, is married and has two children. Before Minier surprised French readers and critics with his crime novel The Frozen Dead in 2011, he worked as a customs officer. This belated, and perhaps therefore mature, debut won several awards, such as the Elle magazine readers' prize (in the crime category) and, most notably, the prestigious Prix Polar, awarded at the Cognac crime literature festival. The Frozen Dead has been translated into several world languages, including English, and was also adapted into a French television series, Glacé. Minier's other books have also been met with success among readers and critics.
