Theatre play by Radka Denemarková Sleeping Defects
The play Sleeping Defects, which premiered in October 2010 at Prague's Divadlo Na zábradlí, is a masterfully constructed drama for three actresses. In an unspecified place after her death, it features English novelist Virginia Woolf, American poet Sylvia Plath and eccentric millionaire Ivana T. In a forced cohabitation, in which they have to take care of even the most banal household chores, including cooking and sewing, each of the characters reveals - often against her will - what she has tried to keep hidden from herself. And although all the drama here takes place only in the dialogues of the three characters, the play is full of unexpected twists and turns, suddenly revealed animosities and unexpected affections, defiance of life and coming to terms with it. The play Sleeping Bugs was staged in a significantly abridged version, this audio version presents it in its entirety.
