Slipknot: Iowa (2x LP) - LP

Slipknot continue their reissue activity. The band plans to release all of their albums on different coloured vinyls. The second album, Iowa, dates from the summer of 2001 and was produced by Ross Robinson. Slipknot were under a lot of pressure during the recording process after their warmly received eponymous debut, yet, or perhaps because of it, they made a great album that went platinum in several countries around the world, including their home country of America and England. Now, after the lemon yellow first album, a clear version of the second album is available for the band's fans.

The nine-member band from Iowa combines various types of metal, which is why their work is most often referred to as crossover metal. The group became famous for its subversive lyrics and use of bizarre masks and costumes. The band was formed in 1995 in Des Moines by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. The line-up changed for several years, and in 2010 Gray died and Donnie Steele took his place. Corey Taylor remains the lead singer of the band. Their music is a mix of influences brought to metal by Korn or Marilyn Manson, i.e. grind metal, neo-shock rock or rap metal. They are one of the bands that contributed to the worldwide explosion of popularity of nu-metal in the second half of the 90s. The group has performed in the same costumes throughout its existence and its members are numbered from zero to eight on stage.
