Social work does not only focus on individuals, families, groups or communities, but it affects culture as a whole. On the other hand, it can only be understood in relation to the social and cultural context in which it was created. If she is not clear about herself, questions are inevitable: What impact can this have in the context of culture? What is the role of the social worker and social work in today's society?
In the professional discourse and in the field of Czech social work, there is talk today about the crisis of social work, the lack of clarity of its identity, the influence of unqualified and insufficiently prepared workers on its actual performance, the loss of its social prestige, etc. These are important and important topics, but they must be seen in a broader context, because, like other fields, social work is fundamentally a reflection of contemporary society.
