Šohajka: You Hear The Bell Ringing - CD

Moravian Slovácko is undoubtedly one of the most important folklore regions of our homeland. Many brass bands draw on the rich folklore here. Through folk song they then get to other musical sources. One of the most successful is the Sohajka band from Dolní Bojanovice near Hodonín, which was started by Vojtěch Ducháček, a graduate of the Brno Conservatory in 1982, and whose bandleader he is still. The music teacher Mgr. Karel Bohun and the band also received support from the municipal leadership.

For the song "Slyšíš, jak zvoní" the band and its soloist Jožina Ducháčková received a Gold and later a Platinum record from the music publishing house Edit. In the Dechovka magazine's "Singer of the Year 1998" poll, Jožina won 1st place. In the Slovácké dechovka polls "Hledáme dechovku roku" the band regularly occupies the top places and in the genre of folk and brass music Šohajka was nominated for the Czech Grammy Award 1996. In the year 1998-1999 Šohajka became the most successful band in the Czech Radio Prague's brass band chart.
