Speech therapy in nursing practice

The book introduces the reader to speech therapy in nursing - the text is primarily focused on the needs of healthcare professionals. In this sense it is the first textbook of this type in the Czech Republic. Those parts of speech therapy that may occur in routine nursing practice are highlighted. For example, it focuses on speech disorders encountered by health professionals in patients of all ages and the principles of communication with individuals suffering from speech disorders. The conclusion of the publication is devoted to the speech therapy approach to the elderly. The author, who is a clinical speech therapist, has supplemented the theoretical part of the explanation with a number of tips from her many years of practice. The publication will be appreciated not only by nurses, gerontologists, clinical speech therapists, psychologists, but also by students of relevant disciplines.
