St. Germain: St. Germain- CD

The new album was recorded by St. Germain with African musicians, using a number of traditional instruments such as the balafon, ngoni or kora, whose sound he combined with electronic strings and saxophone. In the pilot single Real Blues, he uses studio technology to let the legendary bluesman Lightnin' Hopkins do the talking. The album is also released on 2LP.

St. Germain is a household name in the world of intelligent music. Ludovic Navarre, the man behind the pseudonym, is considered to be an almost genius experimenter who sensitively combines the advances of studio technology with traditional music. His subtle compositions absorb modern influences, but above all they are based on authentic musical foundations. Navarre can play with blues, jazz and black music, working with electronic loops and vocal samples. In the mid-1990s, when he released his debut album Boulevard, he helped spread the dance music often referred to as French touch. Hypnotic deep house, laced with jazz fragments, charmed nightclub-goers in particular, but it could also be heard by concert-goers of the Rolling Stones, who, with the help of St. Germain's songs warmed up the audience. His magnum opus, the 2000 multi-platinum album Tourist, has subsequently been sold to over three and a half million listeners.
