Stooges: Stooges - LP

In 1969, the band released their eponymous debut, which is now considered one of the seminal records of proto-punk. John Cale of the Velvet Underground collaborated on the album. The album is now being re-released on LP.

The American rock band from Michigan also performed under the name Iggy & the Stooges. Famous for her raw, almost primitive rock style, she was especially famous for her wild concerts, where singer Iggy Pop often self-mutilated himself. The band released two albums and broke up, only to reunite briefly with a changed line-up for a third album, Raw Power (1973). The Stooges' style is often described as proto-punk, influenced by punk rock, heavy metal and alternative rock. In 2010, the band was invited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Rolling Stone magazine named them one of the 100 most important bands in history.
