“Ludwig van Beethoven probably wouldn' t be thrilled to learn that he composed the popular hit For Eliška and that his other works would never be discussed.
That' s what' s happening to me. For most of my fellow citizens, I am the one who composed the Strand of Hair. Other songs don' t seem to exist. And do you know how much work they gave me? If I had the talent of Ludwig van Beethoven, I would spill one Eliška after another up my sleeve, but I, a simple musical dilettante, have to break through each song to the desired result. Which then humanity ignores.
It is true that my songs from the play Sect were played at the National Theater by a 70-member orchestra under the baton of Libor Pešek and sung by a large choir, but for the general public I did not cease to be the one who composed the Strand of Hair. Sometimes I think that I ox composed the Strand!
One day it had to come: I decided for the last desperate attempt to point out that I have several hundred songs on my account, which have been trying in vain for fifty years to show that they are. I decided to release a CD, under an English pseudonym, which is a literal translation of my name. I hope that humanity will notice them more that I will be more “in“. English is flying now.
And if someone perfectly founded explains to me that all my other songs do not reach the qualities of the Hair Strand, I will at least know what I' m up to. This CD is my last attempt to learn from my neighbors what it is like. And if possible, while I' m alive. "
