Summer Stories

Summer should smell of strawberries, campfire smoke and first kisses. But what if it's the carefree holiday evenings that bring to light what we've been hiding all year? The protagonists of Summer Stories wander between swimming pools, cottages and seaside guest houses – and at the same time, are on the brink of making crucial life decisions. A romance with a lifeguard, a crazy canoeing trip with the family, summoning spirits, or a hanged man discovered during a night game… and also the choice between a wife and a mistress, the search for a lost husband, or the torment of adolescence… Humour alternates with a chill down the spine, and now and then, a murder occurs. Thirteen renowned Czech authors weigh down the lightness of summer fun with the message that some of the consequences of summer last forever.
