Svoboda Jarda: Solo - CD

The solo album from Jarda Svoboda, the frontman, singer, composer, lyricist, and organist of the band Traband, bears the simple title SOLO. In its ten songs, this new release sonically follows on from the album Přítel člověka (A Friend of Man), which he recorded with Traband in 2007. And just like on that album, the harmonium, a very unusual musical instrument these days, takes centre stage here too. Therefore, alongside Jarda Svoboda's unmistakable lyrics and poetics, this keyboard instrument—with its characteristic sound somewhere “between a church and a pub”—significantly shapes the album's overall atmosphere. In addition to playing the harmonium, clarinet, harmonica, and other instruments, Jarda Svoboda also enlisted the help of fellow musicians. The bass guitar was recorded by Fanda Holý, the mandolin by Mourad, and the rhythm section was handled by Jayk.
