Tata Bojs: Lying Eight - CD

The horizontal eight is basically a loop and Tata Bojs work with them, both in the musical sense of the word, but also very often in general. They move in different cycles, they repeat, but they are still Tata Bojs. And like many other artists, they are caught by this paradox: We will never sound completely new again, but it will never be exactly the same as “in the old days“.

The album is musically and thematically varied. The lyrics are drawn by the red thread of the above repetition, looping. However, the fabric from which the board is assembled has more colours than just red. There are visions of the relatively near future, an outline of the past and the position of all mankind, even an apocalypse and, last but not least, a few songs that deal with human relationships and communication.

However, the over-themed themes are definitely not overly “burdensome“ or too serious. They work with themes, even the more serious ones, in a fun way.

Musically, the album is maximally song-like, with the most purposeful arrangements. No exaggerated “layering“ and opacity. Only the strongest ideas remained. The sound of the album is modern, but not convulsive “trendy“. It is also retro in some respects, which is often modern.

The album Ležatá osmička will be different from the band' s last achievements. This time the production of the album took place only under the direction of Milan Cais, the mix of the album took place in the Sono Records studios and was taken care of by Milan Cimfe. He mixed Futuretro 11 years ago, this year nominated for the Album of Twenty Years. It always fits into the theme of repetition.

The complete Clarinet Factory, a chamber orchestra conducted by former guitarist Mark Doubrava and also surprisingly Vladimir 518 in one of the strongest songs on the album called “World“ will be introduced as guests on the album.

The first tasting is the pilot single, symbolically named “Repetition“.

Will the Horizontal Eight stir the stagnant waters of the Czech music scene? Will it make waves or will it flow? Character, breast, crawl? Due to her logo, the best swimming style would probably be a “butterfly“.
