Terne Čhave: More, love! - CD

Terne Čhave were once one of the most successful Czech Roma bands. But that's not quite the case anymore. A few years ago, they crossed the boundaries of the Roma ghetto, welcomed white "gadje" into their ranks, and set out into the wider world. They criss-crossed Europe, and their music blended Roma melodies with rock, Latin, and dance rhythms. With their new album, "More, Love!", they took their time, and it really shows in the result!

Some might be surprised by its sound – alongside the violin and accordion, you'll also hear an electric guitar and a sampler. The new Terne Čhave sounds as spicy as the album's title (which can be read in both English and Romani). They don't overthink their style, and once they start playing, you won't have time for such thoughts either – most of the tracks are set at a devilish pace. But if it's keeping you up at night, we'll let you in on a secret: this is true Roma rock 'n' roll, or Rom'n'Roll!
