The Alchemist

The biggest Brazilian bestseller of all time

This almost fairytale-like narrative follows a Spanish shepherd's journey to find buried treasure. Based on a story of a fulfilled dream from the collection One Thousand and One Nights, it is both a call to fulfil your own destiny and a discovery of the sacredness of the world we live in. On the path to this dual treasure, which is full of trials and important encounters, you must pay attention to all the signs and, with constant patience and courage (like an alchemist watching base metal turn to gold), transform your very personality.
The novel has been translated into 34 languages, with 10 million copies sold.
