The Count of Monte Cristo II.

Alexandre Dumas' world-famous novel about a terrible betrayal and deep revenge tells the story of the young Edmond Dantès, who is unjustly accused and condemned by his enemies. After fourteen years in prison, he manages to escape and, thanks to an immense treasure, embarks on a path of vengeance. The second volume contains the third and fourth books of this famous novel. The books were published in 1945 in a translation by the exceptional poet and translator Vladimír Roy. The quality of the translation is evidenced by the fact that most abridged editions up to the end of the 20th century used this translation as their basis.
