The kite is coming back. After thirteen years overseas, where he fought in the war of the North against the South and guarded the law in the western borderlands, Adam Šarkan is heading back to his native Gemer. His sister Julie asks him to help her search for her husband. Zeman Henrich Belohorský mysteriously disappeared during the search for the mythical treasure of the Red Monks somewhere in the mountains behind Jelšava. The trail also leads to the parish in the nearby Drienčany, where the local expert in fairy tales, Pavol Dobšinský, and his pastor Zuzana Kráľovičová will join the expedition. Along the way, it turns out that Henrich's disappearance could be related to the recent forfeiture of a shipment of money for the administration of the Coburg estate. And even the dreaded Baron Horváth, who owns the House of Forbidden Pleasures and is said to be in league with dubious elements, knows something.
