A new edition of two historical mysteries, A Cup of Poison for the King and The Emperor's Last Will
At a dinner with King Wenceslas IV. Duke Frederick of Bavaria was poisoned. It seems that he accidentally drank a goblet of wine with poison that was intended for the monarch himself. And so the New Town's scrivener Jakub Protiva of Protivec and his friend the monk Blasius are invited to Prague Castle to find out who tried to assassinate the king.
In the second book, Wenceslas IV. finds himself in a different kind of danger. The archbishop of Prague, Jan of Jenštejn, holds the last will of Emperor Charles IV, according to which the emperor's left-hand man, Henry, was to be called to the Czech throne.
