The logic of meaning
The Logic of Sense by the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, first published in 1969, is one of the major works of this author before his collaboration with Felix Guattari. The book is a collection of 34 series of paradoxes, which are followed in the form of an appendix by five already published, edited essays that develop points that are only briefly hinted at in the previous series. < br> The central theme is the thinking of agency, which Deleuze tries to follow in the footsteps of Henri Bergson or A. N. Whitehead to assert himself against the dominant philosophy of being. Within this new framework, he then recasts the classical notions of event, of meaning or ideas and wants to show, that only a different understanding of the relationship between differentiation and repetition opens the way to a new image of thought, which does not derive its necessity from the evidence of first principles, but from the experience of encountering the problematic, in which the world is shown to us.
