The Marriage Bureau - DVD

Mr. Kubr (Plachta) is the owner of the VRKŮ marriage agency, but he himself is getting a divorce. His office is approached by families with various requests - some want to obtain evidence of their wife's infidelity, others want to marry off their daughter for a bargain. At a meeting of the League of Awakening Women, Kubr promises to push for a compulsory marriage law, earning the ire of the Bachelors Club. So he decides to go on holiday to the mountains with his nephew Josef, who helps him in the firm's Love Correspondence department, where he also meets clients of his office. He succeeds in getting his plan through - the Finance Minister enacts a bachelor's tax: every single man, divorcee or widower is obliged to pay 50% of his income - unless he remarries!
