The Painted Bird (2DVD) - DVD

In an attempt to save their child from the mass extermination of Jews, a boy's parents send him to live with a relative in the countryside somewhere in Eastern Europe. However, his aunt unexpectedly dies, forcing the child to set out on a journey and fend for himself in a wild and hostile world governed only by local rules, prejudices, and superstitions.
After the war, his struggle for literal physical survival is replaced by a different battle. A battle he is not even aware of, a battle with himself, a battle for his soul, for his future.

The film is based on the global bestselling novel by Jerzy Kosiński.
