The Silent Sentinel

Spring of 1969. The continuation of the story of Secrets on Skin brings us into Lakshmi's life when she is happily married to Dr. Jay Kumar and runs an herbal garden in Shimla so that the local hospital can offer natural treatments to locals who don't trust industrially manufactured medicines. Twenty-year-old Malik finishes his studies at a private boys' school in Shimla and meets Nimmi, with whom he falls in love. But just as their relationship is beginning to develop, Malik has to go to Jaipur for an internship at the royal palace to learn about construction. A spectacular project is being completed here: supermodern cinema. Malik soon discovers that not much has changed in the Pink City since his childhood. Power and money still play a major role among the wealthy class, and the favour of the royal palace comes with strings attached. When a box collapses during the grand opening of a new cinema, the blame falls where it belongs. Malik suspects something much darker is going on and is determined to find out what really happened. He enlists the help of Lakshmi and together they set out to unravel the web of lies and secrets...
