The Silver Lake Mystery - DVD

Following his outstanding meta-horror film, It Follows, distinctive director David Robert Mitchell embarks on a hallucinogenic trip through Los Angeles. His meandering neo-noir, Under the Silver Lake, revolves around 33-year-old Sam, who, after the disappearance of his mysterious neighbour Sarah, begins a surreal quest to decode the secrets, scandals, and conspiracies hidden in the depths of the City of Angels.

This hypnotic and entertaining thriller, almost Lynchian in style, is driven as much by its obsessive central character as by its refined soundtrack, serpentine plot twists, and countless pop-culture references, which together form a kind of secret history of L.A. The film is both a subversive game and an unconventional tribute to the era of classic Hollywood.
