The Sixth Match - DVD
Talented playwright Nicky is a lifelong devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. On the eagerly awaited opening day of his final game, a key game of the World Series finals is also underway in which the Red Sox, the team of "tragic losses," can achieve a historic triumph. The match has a fundamental, almost cathartic importance in Nicky's eyes: can, in a brief moment, overturn the meaning of his entire life, clear him of his guilt, and perhaps even save his crumbling marriage and family life in general. That's why Nicky finally decides to prefer watching him in the pub to attending the premiere of his best play. It runs parallel to the baseball game and it too teeters on the thin line between sensation and fiasco. The general nervousness about its reception is compounded by the presence of the caustic theatre critic "Broadway phantom," Steven Schwimmer, also an avid Red Sox fan. Nicky's bitter expectation of his team's defeat and the failure of his game, his fear of winning, is a metaphor for his whole attitude towards life, people and himself. Can Nicky find the courage to be open and accept the unpredictable and risky life as "good" and people as "trustworthy"? ”
