KELLY BISHOP

is a Tony Award-winning dancer and actress, best known for her role as Emily Gilmore in the popular Emmy Award-winning series Gilmore Girls and as Marjorie Houseman in the hit film Dirty Dancing. Born in colourado Springs in 1944, Bishop moved to New York at eighteen to pursue a career in ballet. A few years later, she landed her breakout role as Sheila Bryant in the iconic musical A Chorus Line, for which she won both a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award. Bishop then transitioned from dance to acting, appearing in films such as Six Degrees of Separation and Private Parts, and in TV series including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Good Wife, Bunheads, and the Amazon Prime sensation The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She lives in New Jersey.
