16,000 kilometres. 16 countries. 352 days. Russ Cook is the first person to run the length of Africa. From the southernmost point of the continent, Cape Agulhas in South Africa, to Tunisia's Ras Angel. During his long journey, he faced desert storms, rainforests, mountain ranges, brutal heat, but most of all his own physical and mental limits. Despite the kidnapping attempt, the armed ambush, and many other obstacles, Russ never once realistically acknowledged the possibility that he would give up. By the time he crossed the finish line in Tunisia, he had run the equivalent of 386 marathons and the whole world was watching in amazement.
