The Wrong Man - Blu-ray

The Wrong Man is both similar and dissimilar to Alfred Hitchcock's other films. The story combines suspense, a gripping picture and a truly terrifying dilemma. This time, however, the master of horror dramatised the true and shocking experience of a man tried for crimes committed by a robber who looked just like him.

Henry Fonda plays Manny Balestrero, a musician evidently full of quiet rage at the injustice of his arrest. Vera Miles portrays his mentally unstable wife, Rose, who is driven to madness by the ordeal. And Hitchcock proved to be the right man to bring this case to life, transferring it to the screen with the precision of a documentary filmmaker. He made New York City a star of the film, the cast included actual witnesses to the Balestrero case, and filming took place in a number of real locations, including the Stork Club, Manny's cell, and the sanatorium where Rose was staying.
