Thinking in Perl

The book is intended for those who have not yet come into contact with Perl and want to get acquainted with the language. However, experienced professional programmers will also find a lot of useful information in it. The content of each chapter is created according to the Perl philosophy. As with natural language, it starts from simple basics and gradually adds more information so that the reader can get a complete picture of all the laws and contexts of the language. It is certainly an advantage for the reader if they are already familiar with a programming language or programming principles. However, this is not a condition that would hinder the study of much of this book. Emphasis is placed primarily on areas that distinguish Perl from other programming languages or are currently relevant. These areas are regular expressions as the main tool for processing text data, object-oriented approach, working with databases and creating web applications. After reading this book, the reader should have enough information to have a comprehensive understanding of the language, and should be able to create database-driven web applications at a sufficiently high level. The book also describes the possibilities of the language, that aren't used very often, a reference guide to all built-in functions, standard names, standard and pragmaticmodules, etc., therefore it is possible to return to it often.
