Three Christmas cards

When else to wish for love and happiness if not at Christmas? The main characters in these stories are well aware of this. But as it happens, there is a winding road to the fulfillment of such wishes...

You will meet Kamila in Markéta Harasimová's short story Christmas Dream. This mother of little Péti tries to forget his tragically deceased father in the whirlwind of work and maternal duties. There must be the holidays, a good friend, and most of all Pete's touching wish that she should long to get out of this exhausting cycle and start looking for a man to get on the roller coaster with.

The hero of Josef Pepson's short story Snetivý Not every Christmas present pleases is a man for a change. Pavel, an attractive but not very hard-working man in his thirties, is spending Christmas with another partner for the second Christmas in a row. No wonder, then, that he repeatedly receives very unexpected (and unwelcome) gifts that put him in precarious situations; At other times he is forced to give what he considers most valuable against his will.

And in Alexander Stainforth's short story The Christmas Prince we meet Sabina Horáková. She is beautiful and successful, but she is not successful in love. Her last boyfriend Radek hit her below the belt when he broke up with her shortly before Christmas. Moreover, Sabina discovers that she is not the only one he cheated on his wife with. Vicky's friend has been trying to set her up with one of her colleagues for some time. Sabina feels that Jay doesn't meet her exacting standards, but this guy isn't quite so bland. Will she finally understand that she's chasing her own happiness? And will Jay become her Christmas prince?
