To the very last drop

Dark clouds are gathering over Cadogan House, and newly-made vampire Merit doesn’t know if this is the darkness before the dawn, or the calm before the storm.
The city itself is in turmoil over its paranormal residents, and the state is threatening to pass a mandatory registration act for supernaturals. Tensions have never been higher since vampires came out into the open. If only they could lie low for a while, so people would stop panicking.
As luck would have it, the water in Lake Michigan suddenly turns black, and that's when things really start to get serious. Chicago's new mayor insists she has everything under control, but Merit knows that only a spell born of the darkest magic can alter the very fabric of nature. She will have to turn to friends old and new to find out who is behind it all and stop them before it’s too late for humans and vampires alike.
