Toman - DVD

A TRADER IN HUMAN FATES
HE SOLD THEM ALL

This is the incredible true story of the controversial figure Zdeněk Toman, the head of Czechoslovak foreign intelligence who significantly influenced the country's post-war development. He was an unscrupulous operator with immense power and a crucial mission: to secure the money that would win the communists the election. And Toman knew how to get money – for himself, for his family, and for the party. Black marketeering, blackmail, and taking payments from both war criminals and their victims. Nothing was off-limits. The price he and his loved ones paid for his career was high.
The film uncovers the period of the so-called Third Republic, the dark years of 1945–48, and the story of a man who was never spoken of.

A historical drama from director and producer Ondřej Trojan about a rise and fall set against the backdrop of an era that still affects our lives today. Director Ondřej Trojan brings not only a gripping thriller to the screen but also the most faithful period reconstruction of real events, based on irrefutable archival and eyewitness testimony.

The DVD includes a Czech DD 2.0 audio track for the visually impaired.
