Tudors I (3x Blu-ray) - Blu-ray

Henry (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) ascends the throne at the age of nineteen. He is of little interest to state affairs and therefore leaves them in the hands of the powerful cardinal Thomas Wolsey (Sam Neill), while he himself pursues his own interests. For those who belong to the king' s closest circle and want to maintain the monarch' s favor, ie Cardinal Wolsey, the king' s second wife Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer), the Catholic martyr Sir Thomas More (Jeremy Northam) and the Duke of Norfolk (Henry Czerny) it is a difficult and uncertain task.

Henry VIII he is considered the most shameful of all British rulers - he was a king who devoured food and women with the same greed with which he destroyed those who crossed his path. In history, he is depicted as a fat man with ruthless appetites, as a monstrous selfish man who eradicated any tradition as long as it stood in the way of his ambitions. But that' s only half of Henry' s story - and the grazed king obscures the view of an attractive young man who had been overlooked so far.
