Two Days, One Night - DVD

“An extraordinarily human and powerful story from the masters of the silver screen.”
In their new film, the acclaimed masters of social realism, the Dardenne brothers, focus on Sandra, a mother and a worker at a solar panel factory who is recovering from severe depression. Her return to work is complicated by the company owner's decision, who gives the employees a choice: either Sandra's job, or a bonus of 1000 euros. The desperate heroine has two days and one night to overcome her own weakness and explain to her colleagues that human existence is more valuable than a financial sum. Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne have made a film that is both a gripping social thriller and a deeply unsettling statement on the role of human dignity in contemporary capitalism. The lead role features a stellar performance from Marion Cotillard, the very first international acting star to be cast by the two-time Palme d'Or winners from Cannes.
