U2: Songs Of Innocence (2×LP) - LP

Irish band U2 are finally back! On Tuesday 9 September, they unexpectedly announced the release of their new album, Songs Of Innocence, which comes out on 13 October. However, you can listen to it right now.

The band started recording the new album in June 2012 and finished it this March after several breaks. Recording took place across multiple locations, including London, New York, Los Angeles and Dublin. Renowned American musician and producer Danger Mouse took the production lead, with contributions from Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, acclaimed British producer Paul Epworth, Declan Gaffney and British producer Mark Ellis, better known in the music industry by his stage name Flood.

The album, which the band members consider to be their most personal yet (according to frontman Bono), is influenced by 1970s rock and punk, as well as early 1980s electronica and soul. Its core themes are home, family and relationships. The standard version of the album features eleven songs in total (including a duet with singer Lykke Li), but a deluxe edition is also available, containing four additional new tracks plus several acoustic versions of songs from the album.
