Under the paper moon
The year is 1942 and Evelyn Bishop, heiress to an aviation empire, is working as an interpreter in London. At least, that's what her father thinks. In reality, Evelyn has joined the war effort in a far greater capacity than simply translating dispatches. She has become an OSS agent with the goal of finding her brother, who is being held as a prisoner of war in a labour camp somewhere in France. Evelyn is integrated into a small team, and together they are sent on special missions into occupied Europe. Her team of fellow soldiers becomes her family, and she soon finds herself bound to one of them, Commander Nick Gallagher, by more than just their shared mission. However, their relationship ends at the close of the war, when one of them commits an unforgivable betrayal.
Six years later, Evelyn is back in her hometown of Los Angeles, where she has her own detective agency. While tailing a man suspected of infidelity, she unexpectedly runs into Nick again, who is working for the man as a private detective. But then the man is murdered.
Evelyn and Nick decide to join forces one last time to uncover the killer, but they soon discover that the war they left behind in Europe three years ago has followed them right to their doorstep… Because now it's time to settle the score.
