V. K. Klicpera.

This chivalrous comedy about the love adventures of Hadrian of Rome, a trickster, in the castle of Chelakov is undoubtedly one of the best in the history of Czech comedy. Hadrian of the Romans is one of Václav Kliment Klicpera's most performed plays. He takes the plot based on the substitution of persons, as it was called at the time, to surprising turns. The parody line of the knight stories is still charming today. Persons and cast: Knight Svetislav, the master at Čelákov (František Hanus), Jenovefa, his unmarried sister (Jaroslava Drmlová), Yellow, his daughter (Drahomíra Fialková), Jelmir (Milan Friedl), Soběbor (Jaromír Spal), Hadrian of the Romans (Luděk Kopřiva), Nice head, Svetislav's armour-bearer (Rudolf Široký), His, Hadrian's armour-bearer (Josef Větrovec), Srposh, mercenary (Svatopluk Skládal).
