various: Puccini

The Opera Rara publishing house, in an exclusive distribution with Warner Music, brings to the Czech market a recording of Puccini's first opera, Le Willis (more accurately titled either “Le Villi” in the Italian original or “The Willis” in the English translation). The first version from 1884 was revised and expanded by the composer at the publisher's request (1885), and the final version of the work dates from 1889. This final version served as the basis for the new, revised edition of the score from the publisher Ricordi, which was used for this recording. The main roles are performed by Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho and Armenian tenor Arsen Soghomonyan, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Mark Elder.
