Various: Tribute Abraxas (2x CD) - CD

Abraxas is undeniably one of our essential style-shaping bands - and this tribute shows how well it works in 2014! Funk, hard rock, disco, art rock, punk or Latin, all attractively intertwined in Slávek Janda's hits, Miroslav Imrich and Co., turned into a total of 28 cover versions by our various famous artists on this 2CD, occasional connections and unexpected discoveries.

Among the first officially recorded admirers were the courtesans of 25th Avenue with Every Day is Different, followed by Bruno Ferrari and gradually joined by others: Kamil Střihavka, Roman Holý, Tata Bojs, Fanny, One hundred animals, Boris Carloff, Laura and her tigers, Atari Terror or Plexis, but also Midi Lidi, Viktor Dyk, Vasek Bláha with Matěj Homola, Erika Fečová and many others. It's a normal world, Honza rock 'n' roll star, Endless boogie, The earth is going round and round, First time, Moon, Karel doesn't do drugs, Prague - Bohumín, I'm sorry, King Kong, box. It is clear that stylistically this homage is between quite distant boundaries: nice pop, synthi funk, metal beatdown, punk classic, Vineyard R'n' B, brutal electronics, all this to the Abraxas project coordinator P. Soukup got away with it.

This special was filmed in 2013 and 2014 in a number of studios and with different producers, but it's all connected by a desire to remember and celebrate a band that has been supplying us with rock energy, quirky humour and songs with memorable choruses since 1976.

A full-bodied musical tribute to Abraxas, full of stars and surprises!
