Various: Země československá, domov můj (5x CD) - CD

A compilation of Czech, Slovak and Czechoslovak songs that map the entire 100 years since the republic's founding. All the recordings have one common theme—their content relates to the republic and the homeland.

106 original recordings guide the listener through the musical history of Czechoslovakia and beyond. The lyrics often reflect the era in which they were created.
This intentionally eclectic selection aims to chart the development of Czechoslovak song—with the exception of brass band music. Listeners can expect to encounter a wide range of other genres, including folk songs, swing, dance music, big beat, chanson, blues, pop, rock, folk, country, rap, and many other surprises. The musically multi-layered concept of this compilation evokes a range of emotions, moods, and reflections, bringing both smiles and a sense of perspective.

The selection doesn't focus exclusively on hits but also showcases the most prominent personalities of their time, from Destinnová, Hašler, Dvorský, Werich, Šuláková, Simonová, Suchý, Hegerová, Gott, Přenosilová, Kryl, Kubišová, Matuška, Pilarová, Zich, Filipová, Spálený, Tučný, Prokop, Hlas, Mládek, Ráž, Merta, Neckář, Skoumal, Navarová, and Hutka, to the most current artists like Radůza, Baumaxa, Malátný, Timko, Cermaque, Zagorová, Xindl X, Klus, Tobias, Hrůza, El Nino, and others.
