Velvet Underground: 1969 (2018) (2x LP) - LP

The Velvet Underground was an American rock band, formed in New York City in 1965; it only existed until 1973. The original members were Lou Reed (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and John Cale (keyboards, viola, bass guitar, vocals), Sterling Morrison (guitar, bass guitar) and Angus MacLise (drums). MacLise was replaced by drummer Maureen Tucker that same year. Although the band had practically no commercial success, it is regarded as one of the most important and influential bands of the 1960s.

This was confirmed by music theorist Brian Eno, who said that only a few thousand people bought their first album when it was released, but almost every one of them went on to start their own band. In the band's early days, their manager was Andy Warhol, and the band often performed at his The Factory and as part of his Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
